Smatrcl Check Harddisk Drive Health Condition

Using smartctl command we can check the hard disk whether It is going to bad or not,it is self-monitoring tool, used to detect the reliability of the hard disk.
1)Fist we need to enable the smartctl.
-s value [ -s option is used to enable or disable hard disk]
# smartctl -s on -data /dev/hdc
smartctl version 5.38 [i686-redhat-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-8 Bruce Allen

-d is used to specified the type.

If the hard disk health is good condition then we will get result :PASSED.
